Any woman of Ashkenazi Jewish* ancestry is eligible if she meets the criteria of one of these groups:

*Please note that, for the purposes of this study, Ashkenazi Jewish is defined as have 4 grandparents of Eastern European Jewish ancestry.

Group 1 - Women from high risk families.  For this study, a high risk family is defined as 2 or more close relatives on the same side of the family with breast and/or ovarian cancer.  If genetic testing for BRCA mutations was performed in the family, the results must be negative to qualify for this group.

Group 2 - Women with a personal history of breast or ovarian cancer, and who has tested positive for a mutation in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes.

Group 3 - Women that are 60 years old or older without a personal diagnosis of cancer who has tested positive for a mutation in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes.

Group 4 - Women that are over the age of 70 who have not been diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer and do not have a significant family history of either disease.
